Recently, I had the pleasure of revisiting a home I designed for returning clients in Walnut Creek, California. I was visiting the area while beginning a new project with them — the interior design of their custom home currently under construction in Bodega Bay, California.
Five years ago, I designed their Walnut Creek home, and stepping back into the space was incredibly meaningful. The home was beautifully maintained, the design details were still thoughtfully integrated, and the spaces continued to feel intentional and connected to their lifestyle.
What I loved most was seeing how naturally the homeowners lived in the home. Their personal collections, artwork, and meaningful belongings had been layered into the design over time, creating a space that felt even more personal while preserving the original design vision.
This is the ultimate goal of interior design: creating homes that truly support and enrich the lives of the people who live in them.
Designing Happy Homes Through Thoughtful Interior Design
My design philosophy has always been rooted in the belief that a beautiful home must also be functional, comfortable, and deeply personal.
Great interior design is not only about selecting finishes, furniture, and décor. It begins with understanding how homeowners live — their daily routines, storage needs, entertaining style, and the emotional connection they want to feel in their home.
When these elements are thoughtfully considered and built into the design, a home becomes effortless to live in. Spaces flow naturally. Organization becomes intuitive. Everyday activities become easier. The home becomes a place where homeowners can relax, recharge, and enjoy the beauty around them.
