Our clients, a busy family with three children, tapped Yoko Oda Interior Design to transform their bland, outdated home into a cozy, modern one that reflected their contemporary style. All new engineered light hardwood floors were laid down to provide a cohesive feel. The family needed lots of storage so Yoko created custom cabinetry to house all their belongings in a clean and organized fashion. The added fireplace is wrapped with shiplap that lends to the farmhouse/ranch style of home. A cozy sectional and patterned pillows create a space where this active family can spend their down time. The kitchen was expanded into the unused formal dining room which was able to create an island, lot’s of cabinet storage, and a built in seating area. The quartz countertops are reminiscent of Calcutta without the maintenance and contrast the dark gray washed custom cabinetry. Open shelving and industrial size appliances make this design highly functional as well.
