Color Forecast for 2022

With 2022 already on the horizon, this year seemed to fly by. When looking toward the next year, colors with primary earthy tones along with focusing on the “feeling” of the space with calmer hues.

When looking at the top producers in wall paint and coverings, all have the same vision and color theory. Farrow and Ball predict “strong emphasis on primary colors.” Consider this tone in a kid’s room, a powder bath, or even wall paneling and moldings.

Graham & Brown, known for their luxurious and high end wall coverings, predicts calm moody blues.

Restore Midnight, wallpaper of the year, was born from our reflection of the past years.  “Restore Midnight is designed with healing, rejuvenation, and reconnection with nature all in mind – Just a few of the things we will need for the year ahead. Juxtaposing the natural and manmade, this elegant design is reminiscent of a wild yet calming concrete jungle. The design features wild trails of exotic botanicals taking over a soothing, smoky blue backdrop. Full of nature, peace and tranquility.”

Sherwin Williams, similar to Benjamin Moore, went for a moody gray green. Darker than the rest, this one would be ideal for an entryway, powder room, or spaces with some natural light.

You will see a lot of earthy tones and greens in 2022 interior design. People are looking for healthy, serene, and clam colors. These colors do not look too trendy to me. Paint is an easy small change. Try some of the color palettes of the year in your own home for a change!
